A Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) and Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Alliance for Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT), I have studied with Iyengar teachers:   H.S. Arun, Cynthia Bates, Carolyn Belko, Anneke Faas, Jessie Holland, Rebecca Lerner. Michael Lucey, Carrie Owerko, Heather Haxo Phillips, Lois Steinberg and Patricia Walden.  I am also an Associate Marriage Family Therapist #117533 currently working in private practice under the Supervision of Aharon Grossbard, LMFT #27213.  

Having worked in mental health services since 1994 with a focus on family and couples therapy, depression, anxiety, addiction and attention deficit disorder, I am well acquainted with a variety of healing modalities.  Nonetheless & ONLY after delving deeply over the past 10 years into the practice of asana (poses) and pranayama (yogic breathing) within the Iyengar tradition, do I now feel empowered with a veritable toolbox of practices for physical and mental health that positively enhance quality of life.  These practices are a gift to share with others searching for grounding, inspiration and an overall sense of wellbeing.  

With 7 years+ experience teaching the Fundamental series, Level I and Level I/II asana classes and 5+ years conducting private one-on-one sessions, it's been my privilege and education to witness myself and others with unique bodies, histories and ailments develop greater health from the inside out with the kind of substantive growth you can see and feel.  

My work and this site is dedicated to my family, BKS Iyengar, my teachers and the ever abundant community at the Adeline Yoga Studio.

I’m writing to thank you for introducing me to Iyengar Yoga.  I’ve been feeling the need for body work that addresses issues associated with sports injuries and overall physical neglect.  Your approach to the teaching of this form of yoga worked very well for me.  Your style of instructing was just right.  You are clear, concise and supportive.  I felt respected, encouraged, and pleased with my progress.  You introduced the poses with good demonstrations and specific instructions. I hope I have a chance to practice with you again.  Until then, I have your online videos to keep me moving along.
